The Analog Switch
- Banish the phone from the bedroom. Charge it in another room. Instead, place a notebook and pen on your nightstand.
- PM Routine: Do a “Brain Dump.” Write down every racing thought or to-do item buzzing in your head before you sleep.
- AM Routine: Before you leave the bedroom, write down the Top 2 things you want to accomplish today.

- Sleep: A Baylor University study found that people who wrote “to-do lists” (brain dumps) before bed fell asleep significantly faster than those who journaled about past events. It “offloads” cognitive worry.
- Focus: Writing morning goals primes your Reticular Activating System (RAS) to filter for opportunities, forcing you to start the day proactively (creating) rather than reactively (scrolling/consuming).
- Rhythm: It replaces blue light (which kills melatonin) with a ritual that signals to the brain that the day is officially done.
